Heidi Jane Schuerstedt

1963 ∼ 2017

Heidi Jane Schuerstedt
Heidi Schuerstedt, 54, of Bristol, WI, formerly of Mount Prospect, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, after a valiant battle with Leukemia. Born in Evanston, IL, on March 1, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Nancy (Stearns) Huebner. Heidi was employed by Canteen Vending. Prior to that she owned and operated Heidi’s Bakeries in Northern Illinois and Paddock Lake, WI. She was very active in her church, Westosha Lakes Church, for the past ten years and prior to that, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect, IL. She loved knitting, running marathons, and was one of the founding members of the Oktoberfest held annually in Paddock Lake, WI. Heidi had a personality and smile that lit up the room wherever she went. She truly lived a life of service to others in so many ways, even if it was something as simple as just cheering them up with her presence. She was a light that this world was blessed to have, that will continue to shine brightly through all of the lives that she has touched. Survivors include her four children, Shannon, Brian, Ana, and Marcel (Kristina); five brothers, Donald (Jean), Barry (Gayle), Orrin (Debby), Scott (Lynette), and Christopher (Rolean); two sisters, Rebecca (Michael) Piper, and Mary (Robert) Caldrone; two grandchildren, Kayla and Trystan; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her nephew, David Huebner. A Celebration of Life Service for Heidi will be held on Saturday, June 17th, at Kenosha Bible Church, 5405-67th Street, Kenosha, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Heidi’s passion, Mooseheart School, where a scholarship fund has been established in her name: Moose Charities, 155 S. I only knew Heidi for a brief time through her work with Canteen. She was truly a beautiful spirit and fought the battle with leukemia hard and strong all while maintaining a positive attitude. I am sorry for losing Heidi but glad she is at peace.

My thoughts and prayers have been and will continue to be with Heidi's entire family as you mourn her loss. I hope you can take solace in knowing that her giving spirit lives on through all of you. She was a cherished co-worker and friend. She inspired me in so many ways, and changed me forever teaching me to give more of myself than I thought possible. Anytime she sensed I needed it, she had encouraging words that always made a difference. I miss you Heidi, but am glad you are in a better place free of pain.

Heidi was a customer of mine from time to time at the furniture store and I was a loyal customer of hers at the bakery. She truly did light up a room when she entered and I know she will be missed by many!

It was such a pleasure to be at any Huebner family celebrations when Heidi was there. Everyone said it right: she truly lit up the room with her beauty, her smile, her genuineness, and her sweet and bubbly personality. She was a great woman, gone much too soon! Glad she suffers no more! Condolences to my brother-in-law, Orrin, his family, and to Heidi's whole circle of family and friends.
