Robert Allen Linderman

Robert Allen Linderman, 87, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Grand Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Kenosha on February 10, 1930, he was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Park) Linderman. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford in 1947. After graduating from high school, he proudly enlisted in the Naval Reserve and served as Ship’s Cook on the USS PCE-902 (later the Portage) until 1952. On May 15, 1948, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Betty Jean Lindrose, at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church. They were married for 65 years. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2014. In the early 1950’s, Robert was elected as a Constable and was one of the longest serving elected City Constables, serving for 20 years. As a City Constable, he assisted numerous police departments and police services throughout the years in various assignments in Kenosha, Lake Geneva, Sun Prairie, and Madison. He also formed, organized, and operated the first security force at Great Lakes Dragaway in the 1950’s, where he worked for 20 years. Robert also attended Kenosha Technical Institute (later Gateway Technical College) for Engineering and Layout Technical Design. He worked for Kenosha City Hall as a Surveyor and later as a Water Engineer at the Kenosha Water Department. He later transferred to Great Lakes Navy Training Center as a Power Plant Engineer in their Water Department. Surviving are his two loving daughters, Denise L. (Alan R.) Hoff, Sr. of Arkdale, WI, and Michele L. (Tracy M.) Talbott, Sr. of Escondido, CA; two grandsons, Robert C. Church of Kenosha, and Christopher R. Church of Arkdale; two great-grandsons, Brenton and Collin Buggs, both of Kenosha; and his close companion of many years, Gloria Dimeo of Kenosha. He is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Linderman and Jerry Linderman; and a sister, Patricia (Henry) Helf. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 18th, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2100-75th Street, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors.
