Thomas “Tom” Eidsor went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Harold and Anna (Lettau) Eidsor on September 28, 1934, in Kenosha. A lifelong resident in Kenosha, he was joined in marriage on October 27, 1956, to Mary Maddox, and they enjoyed 60 wonderful years together. He served in the United States Army from 1957-59, after which he was honorably discharged. For 42 years, he worked for AMC/Chrysler and then was a member of the UAW retirees. “Lucky Tom” loved bowling and was a regular on the lanes. He was also the best handyman around and enjoyed helping out anyone who needed it in the neighborhood. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his family and grandkids, who called him “Pops.” He and Mary invested lots of time attending sporting events and activities involving the grandkids. He also really enjoyed taking care of his dog Sassy, who he called Snack. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; son, Gary (Sandi) Eidsor, Kenosha; daughter, Deb (Gregg) Close, Kenosha; and four grandkids, Jessica (Jeremy) Nelson of Indianola, IA, Andrew Close of Kenosha, Zak Eidsor of Kenosha, and Brad Close of Kenosha. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis and James; and sister, Elizabeth Eidsor. A wake will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 18th, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and a funeral service will also be held at Proko Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 19th, at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
