June G. Dodson, 91, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at her home with her family by her side. Born in Kenosha on June 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George and Pauline (Bonk) Wenman. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools. On November 27, 1947, she married Delbert Dodson in Kenosha. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2003. June was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, trips to the casino, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and also the company of her beloved dog, King. Survivors include her two daughters, Colleen (Gary) Lecy and Lori (Bradley) Barthuly, both of Kenosha; a sister, Bonnie McFarland of Spooner, WI; four grandchildren, Tracey Lecy, Rhonda (Rick) Mutchler, Bradley (Traci) Barthuly II, and Bret Barthuly; and six great-grandchildren, Kaylee Richter, Taylor Garcia, Joey Richter, Logan Rugg, Robert Barthuly, and Mollie Barthuly. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eleanor Whitworth, Bernice Sands, and Irene Helton; two brothers, Jim Wenman and John Wenman; and a great-grandchild. June’s family would like to thank Dr. Hull and her staff, the visiting nurses, and Hospice Alliance for all of the kind and considerate care that they gave her. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13th, at Proko Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
