Beulah E. “Boots” Brandt, 91, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2017, at Parkside Manor. Born in Marseilles, IL, on June 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William and Agnes (Brown) Morton. She was educated in the schools of Marseilles and graduated from Marseilles High School in 1943. Her first job was working in the office at the stockyard in Seneca, IL, where she was given the nickname “Boots.” She later began working at Great Lakes Naval Base where she met Harold “Bud” Brandt. On June 19, 1948, they were married at First United Methodist Church in Marseilles, IL, and began their married life in Kenosha. In Kenosha, Beulah was employed at First National Bank, and later at Nash. She was also among one the first women to become a Realtor in Kenosha and worked as one for many years. Her and her many friends formed a club, which later became a Bridge Club. Beulah and Bud lived in both Atlanta, GA, and Spokane, WA, before returning to Kenosha in 1962. Survivors include her son, Doug (Robin) Brandt of Kenosha; and a granddaughter, Emma Brandt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud on February 13, 2003; and two siblings, Margaret Foster and William Morton. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22nd, at Proko Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
