Dorothy J. Christensen, 94, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. Born in Kenosha on June 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph Tutlewski and Grace (Farmer) Tutlewski. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools. Dorothy was a dispatcher for the Pleasant Prairie Fire Department for many years and participated in their Women’s Auxiliary Club. Through the years she was a waitress, most recently at the Hobnob, because she enjoyed meeting and talking with people. She was an avid writer and loved writing mystery novels as well as listening to them on cassette before bedtime. Survivors include a son, Wade Frederick (Lonnie) Yates, and a daughter, Sandra Zizzo both of Kenosha; eight grandchildren, Connie Yates of Kenosha, Timothy Shidagis of Kenosha, Michael Stone of Manitowoc, Gregory Stone of Kenosha, Brian LaPoint of Kenosha, Shellie Heikefeld of Kenosha, Ricky Julius of Union Grove, WI, and Randy Julius of Kenosha; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James Yates; her second husband, Donald Christensen; and five brothers, Marvin Tutlewski, Robert Tutlewski, Rudolph Tutlewski Jr., William Tutlewski, and Gerald Tutle.
