Hazel E. Atkinson, 83, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2016, at Aurora Medical Center. Born in Danville, VA, on December 16, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Maggie (South) Earles. She was educated in the schools of Danville moving to Kenosha from Gurnee, IL, in 1978. On August 22, 1950, she married Calvin J. Atkinson in Bennettsville, SC. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1998. Hazel enjoyed crafting, especially working with wood and sewing. She was also an avid NASCAR fan. Survivors include a son, Allan (Amy) Atkinson of Muskego, WI; two daughters, Sharon (Ralph Hopkins) Porter of Round Lake Beach, IL, and Karen (Jim) Adams of Bristol, WI; one brother, Howard Earles of Pittsville, VA; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Earles. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2nd, at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon.
