Gene P. Hafke, Sr., 75, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. Born in Kenosha on March 2, 1941, he was the son of the late Fred and Frieda (Weyand) Hafke. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools, graduating from Kenosha High School. In 1958, he married Lynne Gott; they later divorced. Gene was employed as a firefighter with the Kenosha Fire Department, retiring as Captain after 35 years. He was on the Board of Directors of the Police and Fire Credit Union, enjoyed collecting model cars, attending car shows, and rooting for the Green Bay Packers, either at home or at the game. Survivors include his children, Gene (Beth) Hafke, Jr. and Michelle (Jay Siegel) Hafke, both of Kenosha; a brother, William (Mary Lou Allemand) Hafke of Kenosha; two grandchildren, Ryan Hafke and Jenna Hafke; and a special friend, Lucy Lafayette. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Hafke; and two sisters, Irene Kozerski and Louise Stein.
