Florence Esther Panka

1923 ∼ 2016

Florence Panka, 93, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Home and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 9, 1923, in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of the late Hugo and Anna (Buckner) Galeotti. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha. In 1941, she was united in marriage to Valentine Panka. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2011. Florence was employed with Sentry Foods for over 20 years until her retirement. She loved taking care of babies. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed shopping, gambling, bowling and spending time at her vacation home in Arizona. She is survived by her two children, Leslie (Carlos) Hernandez of Kenosha and Valerie (Thomas) Kinney; nine grandchildren, Tim Frederick, Beth (Bill) Pease, Shaun (Sara) Hernandez, Carlos (Donna) Hernandez, Theresa (Dan) Giannotti, Amy (David) Maack, Marcy (Bruce) Johnson, Teri (Trice) Barnett and Tim Kinney; and eight great-grandchildren, Brooke, David, Maria, Victoria, Jasiah, Tony, Dustin and Austin. She is further survived by two great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, a grandson, Aaron Hernandez and two sons-in-law, Lawrence Frederick and Thomas Kinney. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Home for their loving care of their mother.
