Joyce Schwaiger, 89, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2016. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, Joyce was born on October 17, 1927, the daughter of the late Carroll and Crescence (Hammes) Krumpos. Joyce was educated in local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.On October 21, 1950, Joyce was united in marriage to Joseph L. Schwaiger at St. James Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, a Christian Mother, and a member of the St. Catherine’s Auxiliary. Joyce volunteered her time for many years at St. Mark’s School. Joyce was an avid bowler and was President of the Bowling league. She was also an avid Packer, Badger and diehard Cub fan. GO CUBS! Joyce is survived by her four daughters, Theresa Schwaiger of Kenosha, Barbara Bahr of Madison, WI, and Nancy Schwaiger and Mary Schwaiger, both of Kenosha; and two grandchildren, Christine (Kurt) Kelling of Minnetonka, MN, and Katie Bahr of Madison, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Schwaiger; and a son-in-law, Bill Bahr. Joyce’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her loving caregivers, Michelle and Julie, as well as the staff at Brookside Care Center. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friends and relatives are asked to meet at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 7117-14th Avenue, on Friday, October 28th, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at St. James Cemetery.
