Carina Peterson, 46, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016, at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bremen, IN on December 12, 1969, she was the daughter of James Ernsberger and the late Catherine (Klingerman) Ernsberger. After graduating from Bremen High School she received a Bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. She worked for the Kenosha Unified School District in the Community and School Relations office as a Parent Liaison and previously held management and other positions in insurance and retail. Carina was an active volunteer in a variety of causes. Most recently her focus was on the Kenosha Orchestra Boosters Program and the Tremper Golden Strings group. She was an avid knitter and could nearly always be found with a project in-the-works. Carina taught many others to knit and loved weekly coffee sessions with her knitters’ groups. She touched and improved so many lives and was always happy to step-up and help or lead others. In 1993, Carina married Andy Peterson. They were blessed with 23 happy years together and two daughters, Robin and Riley. She was loving and devoted to her children, family, and friends. Carina is survived by her husband, Andy Peterson; two daughters, Robin and Riley; father, Jim Ernsberger; and a brother, Jim “Jamie” (Pam) Ernsberger. A visitation for Carina will be held on Thursday, October 20th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, October 21st, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations should be made in Carina’s name to “Kathy’s House” in Milwaukee (www.kathys-house.org) to support their wonderful mission to provide temporary housing for traveling families whose loved ones are being treated at local hospitals.
