William O. Barnhill, Sr., of Kenosha, WI, died Monday, October 10, 2016 after a reoccurring illness. William was born March 11, 1941 in Muddy, IL to the late Dabner B. and Estella B. Anderson Barnhill. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Harrisburg, IL. He graduated from Harrisburg Township High School and married his high school sweetheart, Yvonne. From this union of 20 years came three children, Traci, Sonja and Billy.William came to Kenosha in 1966 and worked for Ladish Tri-Clover as a supervisor for thirty years and continued as a consultant with them after he retired. He helped to organize and was the first Worshipful Master of Joppa Lodge #9, F & A M, Kenosha, WI. He was a fun-loving person with a heart bigger than his chest could hold; always willing to share with others, offer wisdom, and help those in need. He was an avid reader and loved music. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, bowling, deer hunting, golfing, and watching and coaching sports. He also loved being with his family and friends, grilling, cooking, joking around and socializing with people. In the summertime, he was "Fireman Bill on the grill!" William leaves to cherish his memory his three children, Traci (Kent) Britton, Grayslake, IL; Sonja (Jerrold) Mathis, Silver Spring, MD; and William (Alejandra) Barnhill, Jr., Kenosha, WI.; nine grandchildren, Tiara, Kyle, Trevor, and Kaiden Britton; Jerrold Mathis, II; Jaelyn, Jasmin, Janae, and William III Barnhill; and great granddaughter, Layla McAlister. Nieces and nephews Carolyn Collins; Donnie (Vandora) Anderson; Joyce (Steve) Maples; Carroll Jr. (Pauline) Anderson; great nieces and nephews Erica, Eric, Jr. and Kara Collins; Renae and Donnie Jr. Anderson; Derrick and Leah Maples; Carroll III, Carroline and Paul Anderson; and special cousin, Sybal Jackson.He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joyce Barnhill and Mary Ford; two brothers, James Anderson and Carroll Anderson, Sr.; and a special nephew, Linn Ford.A Celebration of His Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Coleman Chapel A.M.E Church 4111 - 30th Ave, Kenosha, WI.
