Thomas Roy “Tom” Hort, 80, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at United Hospital System-St. Catherine’s Medical Center Campus. He was born in Racine on October 24, 1935, to the late August and Virginia (Hoppe) Hort. Tom served his country in the United States Army. On November 29, 1958, he married Sondra Angeli at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Tom was employed as an electrician with J.I. Case until his retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Tom enjoyed working with his hands and even built his home. He also enjoyed restoring antique cars, fishing, and was an excellent bocce player. Tom is survived by his wife, Sondra Hort of Kenosha; three children, Thomas (Gina) Hort, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Tamara (Steve) Vendetta of Mt. Pleasant, WI, and Tim Hort of Chicago, IL; and four grandchildren, Brennan Pierce, Audrey Hort, Shelby Hort and Max Hort. He was preceded in death by his step father, Roy “Red” Palmer.
