Yolanda Christine Zumpano
Yolanda C. Zumpano, 95, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Brookside Care Center. Born in Kenosha on April 20, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Santo and Lena (Valentino) Santapoalo. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools. On June 6, 1944, she married Anthony Zumpano at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1987. She was formerly employed at American Motors and the Frost Corporation. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church where she was involved with the Women’s Society and the church festivals. She also was a member of the Alpine Club, enjoyed watching Everyone Loves Raymond on TV, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her two daughters, Carol Zumpano and Deborah (Michael) Bostetter, both of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Christine (Craig) Brenden, Anne Knapp, Mike Bostetter and Ed (Hillary) Bostetter; twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, Palmer and Frank; a sister, Theresa O’Connor; and a sister-in-law, Jane Santapoalo. The family would like to thank Dr. Rosanna Ranieri, Hospice Alliance and Dr. Antonio Montemurro for all of the kind and compassionate care they gave her. They would also like to thank Proko Funeral Home for all of their help and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2nd, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass.
