Joanne M Van Boven

Joanne VanBoven, 71, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at St. Lukes Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kenosha on February 20, 1945, the daughter of Marinus and Hope VanBoven. Joanne was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. She was employed with the city of Kenosha as a Library Clerk for over 40 years retiring in 2005. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church and participated in the Choir and prayer group, and was also a past member of the Kenosha Lioness Club. Joanne enjoyed reading and following the Green Bay Packers. Surviving Joanne is her father, Marinus VanBoven of Kenosha; a sister, Margaret VanBoven of Kenosha; a brother, Thomas VanBoven of Horicon, WI; and a step brother and step sister, Carl (Marilyn) Sevey and Jean Sevey, both of Kenosha. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hope; and a brother, Richard VanBoven. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31st, at Proko Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately on Monday at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
