Ronald F. Runkles, age 75, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Friday February 26th at Aurora Medical Center.He was born in Springfield, IL on May 28, 1940, the son of the late Oliver and Eva Fofi Runkles.Ron served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 until he retired in 1982. On August 5, 1961 he married Albina “Jimmie” Paoni, she preceded him in death on January 18, 2014.Following his retirement from the Navy Ron was employed by Ista North America for 20 years as a Meter Tech, later He and Jimmie moved to Pleasant Prairie from Cantrell, IL, where they’ve resided for the past five years.Surviving Ron are his two children, Cheryl Coleman of Kenosha and Ronald Jr. of Pleasant Prairie, three grandchildren: Heather (Adam) Christensen, Samantha and Elizabeth Coleman, great granddaughter Evelyn Christensen. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother Kenny Runkles and one sister Barbara Douglas.A graveside service will be held on Thursday March 3, 2016 at 12:00 noon at The Camp Butler National Cemetery 5063 Camp Butler Rd.
