Jose E. Garcia, Sr., 65, of Kenosha, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at his home. Born in Laredo, TX, on November 11, 1950, he was the son of the late Adelo and Cresencia (Rodriguez) Garcia. He moved to Kenosha as a child where he was educated in local schools. He earned his auto mechanic degree from Gateway Technical College. Jose served in the United States Army. On May 4, 1975, he married Margarita Hernandez in Kenosha. Jose worked as a truck mechanic, first at Centers and more recently with Waste Management for over 20 years. He enjoyed fixing and restoring cars. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Margarita Garcia of Kenosha; two children, Joanna Garcia and Jose E. Garcia, Jr., both of Kenosha; two brothers, Raul (Mary) Garcia and Michael (Eileen) Garcia, both of Kenosha; three sisters, Adela Garcia, Christina (Willie) Hernandez and Berta Paredes, all of Kenosha; four grandchildren, AnnMarie, Aris, Elena and Willow Garcia; and one great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Johnston. He was preceded in death by a brother, Geraldo Garcia. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 18th, at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
