Nancy J. Burnett, 73, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016, at Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Chicago, IL, on November 24, 1942, the daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys Petry. Nancy was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Catholic School. On August 31, 1963, she married James Burnett at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, baking, gardening and sewing. She was employed as a legal secretary for Brookhouse Law firm and later for Jansson and Shupe Law firm until her retirement in 2000. Surviving Nancy are her two children, Robert (Marinez) of Dakota Dunes, SD, and Wendy (Brad) Pfeiffer of Salem, WI; daughter in-law, Jeanne Burnett of Dakota Dunes, SD; seven grandchildren, Cara, Ashley, Amber, Alex, Courtney, Rachael and Mia; two step grandchildren, Zyra and Zach; two step great-grandchildren, Arkin and Zoe; a sister, Mary (Larry) Litchfield of Phoenix, AZ; and a brother, John (Marty) Petry of Oregon, WI. Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey; and a niece, Rebecca Petry. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church on Thursday, February 11th, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
