Rose K. Ellsworth
Rose K. Ellsworth, 97, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Wheaten Franciscan Healthcare in Racine. Born in Caledonia, WI, on September 20, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Burk) Strasser. On August 8, 1974, she married John D. Ellsworth. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1998. Rose was an educator for over 50 years in local schools and she would also tutor children when they needed extra help. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and would volunteer with both the parish and the school. She never felt burnt out and thought of her “Golden Years” as very golden and rich. Above all, she loved children and educating them. Survivors include her sister, Florence Smekens of Racine, WI; seven “inherited” children of her husband; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Dienberg. Rose would like to give a special thank you to her friends, co-workers, St. Mark’s “family” and Dr. Ranieri for all they’ve done for her throughout her life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11th, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mark’s Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Rose's Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
