James P. "Jim" Greenwald

1944 ∼ 2016

James P. “Jim” Greenwald, Sr., 71, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. He was born in Kenosha on November 23, 1944, the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Bauschelt) Greenwald. Jim attended local schools in Kenosha and on June 15, 1963, he married Ruth Lynne Velmere-Yockey at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Jim was employed with Jacobsen “Textron” Corp for 32 years. He enjoyed rummage sales, flea markets, and a good deal. His hobbies were music, movies, and monsters, and he was an avid collector of all three. Almost every conversation included a quote or reference from a song or movie. Jim loved nature and animals, especially his many pets. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, and he will be greatly missed by all. Surviving Jim is his wife, Ruth of Kenosha; his sons, James Jr. (Marianne) of Kenosha and Allen (Cathy) of Arbor Vitae, WI; his daughters, Tammy Brunette of Nekoosa, WI, and Jeanet (Jose) Lopez of Kenosha; thirteen grandchildren: Alyssa, Josiah, and Mallory; Chrissy and Julie; Kyle, Nicholas, Shane and Milo; and Marcus, Alex, Ben and Stephanie; three great-grandchildren: Hunter, Jackson and Dechlan; and sisters, Donna Van Winkle of Winter, WI, and Shirley (James) Seymour of Kenosha. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, Robert, and Eugene; two sisters, Lucille Jahnke and Terry Rasico; and his son-in-law, Michael Brunette, whom he dearly loved. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23rd, at the Proko Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family would be appreciated.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Jim’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
