Francisco “Frank” Rangel, 60, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon. Born in Puerto Rico on May 25, 1955, he was the son of the late Edivani Cintron. He moved to New York as a child. On May 8, 1993, he married Miriam Camacho in the Bronx, NY. Frank was employed as police officer with the NYPD and later worked as a private body guard in New York. He moved to Grays Lake, IL, where he became a member of the Lake County Sheriff’s Department. He moved to Kenosha in 2005. Frank was a former member of the Elks Club in Illinois, former member of the Lake County Sheriff Honor Guard and was also a past president of the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed smoking cigars and helping the community with the Shop With A Cop program. Survivors include his wife, Miriam Rangel of Kenosha; two children, Samantha (Casey Sullivan) Rangel of New York and Heather (Andrew Schambers) Camacho of Kenosha; a grandchild, Elijah Schambers; two brothers, Hector Cintron of New Jersey and Miguel Depomar of Connecticut; and an uncle, Wally (Carol) Cintron of the Bronx, NY. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Sunday, January 10th, at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon. I worked with Frank for many years and he participated with Shop with a Cop for many years with me. Frank was a wonderful guy. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family. Frank had another family at work (LCJ) and we will miss him dearly. RIP.
