Barbara Ancevic, 84, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus with her family by her side. Born in Kenosha on April 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Genevieve (Holohan) Johnson. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated at St. James Grade School and graduated from Bradford High School. On August 30, 1952, she married Russell Ancevic at St. James Catholic Church. Barbara was formerly employed with Montgomery Wards and Kenosha Memorial Hospital as a switchboard operator. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, was proud of her Irish heritage and most of all loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Russell of Kenosha; five children, Robin (Dale) Pelt of Kenosha, Susan (Richard) Lewis of Gurnee, IL, David (Kari) Ancevic of Brookfield, WI, Phyllis LaHaye of Racine and Ronald (Cara) Ancevic of Tega Cay, SC; her daughter-in-law, Cathy Ancevic of Kenosha; three brothers, James (Carole) Johnson of Antioch, IL, Tim (Linda) Johnson of Kenosha and Dennis (Mary) Johnson of Somers; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Julie) Pelt, Erik Pelt, Dennis Ancevic, James Ancevic, Christine (Ryan) Rebmann, Daniel LaHaye, William Ancevic, Alec Ancevic and Julia Ancevic; and two great-grandchildren, Christian Pelt and Ava Pelt. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ancevic; two brothers, Richard Johnson and Jerry Johnson; and a sister, Mary Lucille Hylinski.
