John T. Murphy, 87, of Kenosha, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 28, 2015. He was born in West Allis, WI, on December 19, 1927, the son of the late Dennis and Anna Murphy. On April 15, 1950, he was united in marriage to Jean Thomas. John was retired from the Kenosha County Parks System after 35 years of service. He was very instrumental in the development of Brighton Dale Golf Course. John and Jean enjoyed many years of retirement between Kenosha and El Mirage, AZ. John enjoyed family time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean Murphy of Kenosha; his six children, Jerry (Polly) Murphy of Sugar Grove, IL, Susan (Perry) Michalos of Milwaukee, WI, Larry (Shasteen) Murphy of Phoenix, AZ, Nick (Melodee) Murphy of Twin Lakes, WI, Julie (Michael) Juranek of Walworth, WI, and Paul (Angel) Murphy of Genoa City, WI; two sisters, Ellen “Sis” Glass of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Catherine “Toots” Murphy of Barrington, IL; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his six brothers, Denny, Pat, Bud, Jim, Robert and Bing Murphy. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2224-30th Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53144, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Saturday at St. Peter’s Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
