John Joseph Jecevicus, Jr.,78, longtime resident of Wadsworth, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2015, at Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on June 12, 1937, in Grayslake, IL, he was the son of the late John Joseph, Sr. and Anne (Steponavich) Jecevicus. He was a 1955 graduate of Zion Benton High School, where he was a member of the All Star Football team. John served in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged in 1961.He was formerly employed as an iron worker by Fenestra Construction and then as a carpenter for KUSD until 2002 when he retired. John was a member of the Moose and had attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church. He is survived by; five brothers, Anthony, Peter, William, Charles and Michael Jecevicus; four sisters, Patricia Carlson, Mari-Anne Thompson, Suzanne and Judith Jecevicus; an aunt, Josephine Nauta; and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Elise (Huxhold) Jecevicus; and his sister, Julia Guthrie Cornell.
