Madaline Trecroci

1923 ∼ 2015

Madaline Trecroci, 92, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2015, at Brookside Care Center. Born on March 4, 1923, in Fonzaso, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Celeste Margarite (Furlin) Toigo. She moved to Kenosha from Illinois in 1940. On October 4, 1941, she married Edward F. Trecroci. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1982. Before her retirement Madaline was employed by American Motors, St. Catherine’s Hospital and Jockey. Madaline was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and their Ladies Mission Group, as well as the Altar Society. She was a member of the Alpine Club. Madaline loved to sew, creating numerous items for family and friends. She was always mending something for whoever needed her skills. She could be found knitting and crocheting. Everyone in the family has an afghan made by her. Her Northern Italian cooking, especially her polenta, was the very best. On Christmas Eve, Madaline and her husband, Edward, would spend hours making traditional fried breads. Their home was a revolving door for family and friends to partake. Her work ethic was incredible, her home spotless and her yard manicured. To be a good mother, one must defer her own needs and desires in favor of the needs and desires of her children. That was our mother. She is survived by her two children, Frank (Elvira) Trecroci of Kenosha and Claudia (Dennis) Conti of Lincoln, CA; seven grandchildren, Frank (Irene) Trecroci, Dionne (David) Celebre, Matthew Conti, Richard Conti, Dennis J. Conti, Michael Trecroci and Krystal Trecroci; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine Magos. Madaline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Edward M. Trecroci; two sisters, Lucy Giacomin and Mary Steele; and her brother, Abraham Toigo. Prayers will be held on Saturday, August 29th, at Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. George Cemetery will follow. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the prayers.
