Michelina Mazzei, 86, of Kenosha, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at home with her two loving sons by her side. Born on February 20, 1929, in Marano Marchesato, Province of Cosenza, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Filomena (Muto) Chiappetta. She attended schools in Italy and came to Kenosha in the early 1960’s. On March 7, 1965, she married Vittorio Mazzei at the Basilica Madonna Della Catena Catholic Church in Laurignano, Cosenza, Italy. She enjoyed working for many years at various local restaurants alongside friends and family while cooking and preparing food. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She loved cooking, being a home maker, gardening and listening to Italian music. Her two sons, Frank and Gennaro (RuthAnn Williams) Mazzei, both of Kenosha, survive her along with her sister, Gelsomina Metallo. She is further survived by many other relatives and extended family. Her brothers Vincenzo, Giuseppe, Charles, Gaspare and sisters, Ida and Amelia preceded her in death. The family would like to thank her home care givers, Pat Rubin, Linda Erlandson and Christina Erlandson, for all the compassionate care they provided throughout the years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15th, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.
