John Von Asten, Sr., 71 of Willard, WI formerly of Trevor, WI, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, WI with his family by his side.John was born July 2, 1944 in EauClaire, WI to James and Viola (Strehle) Slayton, then as a young child John was adopted by Chester Von Asten. John was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia Bradshaw, on October 27, 1962 in a small church in Greenwood, WI.John worked at Bucyrus-Caterpillar, International Harvester and retired from Stock Lumber in Grayslake, IL. John loved to travel, deer hunt and be with his family.John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia; his three children, Peggy (Kent) Dvorak of Salem, WI; John (Loretta) Von Asten, Jr. of Twin Lakes, WI; Paula (Adelfo) Hernandez of Salem, WI, 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Jim, Ed, Norm and Bob.He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Joan, Betty, Velma; two brothers Richard and Bill.A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12th at the Proko Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the services at 4:00 P.M.
