1930 ∼ 2015

Charles E. Pechous
Dr. Charles E. Pechous Jr., 85, of Kenosha passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2015, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus with his loving family at his side. Born in Kenosha on May 23, 1930, he was the son of the late Charles E. Pechous Sr. MD and Lillian A. Pechous MD. On October 31, 1959 in Chicago, Charles was united in marriage to the love of his life Shirley. For over 40 years Dr. Pechous practiced in Kenosha first with his father and then on his own as a family practitioner and general surgeon. Whether it was working in the hospital or making home visits, Charlie was a dedicated physician to each patient. He was always open and generous with everyone he came in contact with. His passion for his patients was only surpassed by his love for Shirley, his children and grandchildren. He loved being outdoors hunting and fishing and having fun with his family and friends. He loved the yearly Canadian fishing trips with his children, grandchildren and their friends. In the fall if he was not in the Horicon Marsh he was traveling to hunt ducks and geese out west and in Canada. In later years he enjoyed fishing along the Florida Gulf Coast with his children and grandchildren. His lifetime passion of horses and horse racing led to many years of enjoyment at the track. His enthusiasm for athletics started at an early age walking the sidelines with his father at the Chicago Bears Training Camps. This led later to both he and his dad helping out family friend George Halas and his team, Da Bears, at their training camp. He was a member of St Mark’s Catholic Church, American Medical Association, State Medical Board, Ducks Unlimited, Hawthorn Hollow, Veritas Society, Halter Wildlife, Des Plaines Wetlands Conservancy, Greenhead Hunting Club, Prairie Dogs Association, past Chairman and Board member of La Lumiere School, La Porte, IN. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Shirley Pechous of Kenosha; his six children, Charles (Kim) Pechous III, Anne Holdsworth, Jim Pechous, Mary (Tim) Stell, Tom (Jen) Pechous and Liz Pechous; and his 15 grandchildren. Visitation will be held of Friday, July 3rd, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, July 4th, friends and family are asked to meet at St Mark’s Catholic Church, 7117-14th Avenue, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Kenosha Achievement Center, St. Marks Catholic Church or Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Dr. Pechous’ Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

Dr Pechous gave so many great memories growing up to those who knew him! Fishing trips to Canada, sleepovers at the Pechous household, hunting for first time, and seeing him at sporting events for his kids. His legacy will live on through his family, and I'm proud to say through his friends as well. A great mentor who will be missed by everyone!
