Arnold Nurmi

Arnold Nurmi, 83, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at ManorCare of Kenosha. Born in Hurley, WI, on August 30, 1931, he was the son of the late William and Fiina (Dahl) Nurmi. He was educated in the schools of Hurley before moving to Ironwood, MI, in 1956. In 1963 he moved to Kenosha where he has resided since. He served his country in the United States Air Force. On January 7, 1956, he married Vivian Costa in Ironwood, MI. Arnold worked in the iron ore mines in Michigan from 1956 through 1962. Then in 1963 he worked for American Motors Corporation in Kenosha until 1989. After AMC Arnold worked as a truck driver for Bob Horton until he retired in 1992 due to illness. Survivors include his wife, Vivian of Kenosha; three sons, William (Luann) Nurmi of Racine, Michael Nurmi of Kenosha and Steven Nurmi of Kenosha; a daughter, Nina Bush of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Venessa, Nicholas, Jeremy and Julie; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Morgan. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Nurmi and Reino Nurmi; and two sisters, Jenny Ahonen and Elsie Polso.
