Mary Immaculata Maccari
Mary I. Maccari, 89, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2015, at her home. Born in Kenosha on December 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elisa (Vagnoni) Curi. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools and graduated from Kenosha High School in 1943. On August 23, 1947, she married Edo Maccari at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2007. Mary most loved being a homemaker, cooking and baking for her family but also enjoyed her work in childcare and as a bank teller, retiring from Johnson Bank. In recent years she was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church and previously at St. Mary Catholic Church. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was involved with the American Cancer Society. Survivors include two sons, Paul (Lori) Maccari of Waterford, WI, and Edo J. (Laura) Maccari of Kenosha; two daughters, Rita (Martin) Clark of Gilbert, AZ, and Theresa (Jeff) Bessolo of Gilbert, AZ; five grandchildren, Michael (Carrie) Clark, Beth (Joe) Ranney, Kailey Maccari, Matthew (Emily) Maccari and Daniel Maccari; and two great-grandchildren, Angus and Ewan Ranney. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Curi, Sr. and Dino Curi. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 16th, at St. Peter Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
