Michael R. Montemurro, 86, was called to heaven on Saturday, May 2, 2015, in Sun City West, AZ. He was born in Kenosha on September 11, 1928, to the late Michael and Concetta (Stancato) Montemurro. He was educated in local schools. On June 28, 1947, he married his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy M. Herrmann at St. George Catholic Church in Kenosha, WI. He was formerly employed by Simmons Company, American Motors, The Fraternal Order of Eagles and Snap-on Incorporated, retiring in 1992. A member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Holy Rosary Holy Name Society, he was also a member of the Italian American Society. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. He and his wife wintered in Arizona for the last 23 years. Michael was most proud of his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Montemurro of Kenosha; his seven children, Michael (Jean) Montemurro, Kathleen Steinberg, Gerald (Nancy) Montemurro, Diane (Joseph) Leonardi, Ronald (Mariruth) Montemurro, Mary Jo (Rocco) LaMacchia, Mathias (Pat) Montemurro; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and an expected new born great-grandchild in the summer of 2015; a sister, Adelaide Swartz; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Vincent and Anthony Montemurro. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8th, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9th, at Proko Funeral Home at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224-45th Street, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.
