Burton J. “Burt” Watring III, 63, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Kenosha on February 2, 1952, the son of Genevieve and the late Burton Watring Jr. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Bradford High School. Following graduation, he attended The University of Wisconsin-Parkside where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. On June 4, 1977, he married Suzette “Sue” Hurst. Burt was employed by Mazer Chemical where he worked as a quality control chemist. He later worked for BASF as a senior account manager. Following his retirement in 2013, he began a second career with Leith Sourcing. Burt enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, admiring classic cars and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving and supportive father and grandfather. Burt was especially known for his sense of humor and his ability to make everyone laugh. Burt is survived by his wife, Suzette of Pleasant Prairie; his four children, Suzanne (Michael) Schmuhl of Brandon, WI, Brett Watring of Sun Prairie, WI, Brittany (Matthew) Femal of McFarland, WI, and Allysa Watring of Madison, WI; five grandchildren, Mason, Brayden and Everley Schmuhl, and Brycen and Emmett Femal; his mother, Genevieve Watring of Kenosha; a sister, Kathleen (Ben) Rader of Burlington, WI; a brother, Kevin Watring of Melrose, WI; best friend, Charles “Rick” Waller; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister-in-law, Sharilynn Watring. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6th, at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon.
