Vincent Enzo “Vinny” Giannese, 79, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Parkside Manor. Born in Fiume, Italy, on April 16, 1935, he was the son of the late Armando and Vittoria (D’Amico) Giannese. He was educated in the schools of Italy, coming to Chicago in 1956 and finally to Kenosha in 1992. He served in the U.S. Army. In the early 60’s he married Matilde in Italy; they later divorced after 15 years of marriage. Then on November 18, 1980, he married Awilda Rodriguez in Berkley, IL. Vinny was a buyer for a tool and molding company. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed music, photography and dancing. He also played music in a restaurant in Chicago called Enzo’s for several years. Survivors include his wife, Awilda of Pleasant Prairie; a son, Roberto (Catherine) Giannese of Franklin, WI; two step children, Venus Marino of Jamestown, NY, and Jerry (Cheri) Fields of Prosper, TX; four brothers, Sebastian Giannese of Florida, Franco (Leslie) Giannese of Chicago, Mario (Ruth) of Mesa, AZ, and Dino (Christine) Giannese of Chicago; a sister, Dorina (Richard) Spiering of Schaumburg, IL; and five grandchildren, Amber Michael, Caitlyn, Ian and Lucca. He is further survived by several other extended family members and friends. Vinny’s family would like to extend a thank you to the entire staff of Parkside Manor, Hospice Alliance, Aurora Medical Center and Grande Prairie Rehabilitation Center for all of the loving care they gave him and a very special thanks to Becky and Cori for all of their help during this difficult time. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22nd, at Proko Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Friends and family are asked to meet at St. Mary Catholic Church on Monday, March 23rd, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Warren Cemetery in Gurnee, IL.
