Guido Ceschin, 88, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fredericktown, PA, on July 14, 1926, he was the son of the late Augusto and Gemma (Dalla Santa) Ceschin. Guido was a proud veteran of World War II, volunteering to serve his country in Germany. In recent years he traveled with his brother Mario, a fellow vet, to Normandy. Guido also took the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in 2013 with his step-son, Chris. Guido worked for 36 years at American Motors Corporation, where he met the love of his life Maria Rak. On June 28, 1975, he married Maria in Kenosha. They played endless rounds of golf, traveled, and enjoyed celebrating Guido’s Italian and Maria’s Polish heritages together. In addition to his wife, his passions were gardening and music. He truly loved to entertain, and over the years he played his accordion for thousands of people. Guido was a devoted member of St. Therese Catholic Church. He was a founding member of the Alpine Club, where he spent many wonderful hours playing cards, bocce and making music with his friends and family. Guido is survived by his wife, Maria of Pleasant Prairie; his four children, Marie (Eddie) Tovo of Cherry Valley, IL, Tom Ceschin of Kenosha, Tony (Linda) Ceschin of Kenosha and Chris (Laureen) Wawro of East Troy; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Mario and August Ceschin. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Valerie and Palmetta; and one brother, Arthur. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Hospice Alliance, especially Julie and Myra. Also grateful thanks to his longtime wonderful doctor, Dr. Brennan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19th, at the Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. On Friday, March 20th, friends and family are asked to meet at St. Therese Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Donations to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. BOX 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, or St. Therese Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Guido’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

To the family of Guido Ceschin my sympathies on the loss of this wonderful man. He was a friend of my dad's (Ranio Bertana), and was one of the few who welcomed my mother and I into the Alpine Club with open arms. I always remember his kindness and his music. May he enjoy his peace.
