Horace C. “Mick” Gentry, 80, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2015, at Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant, WI. Born in Aberdeen, MS, on October 8, 1934, he was the son of the late James and Callie (Bain) Gentry. Mick was educated in the schools of Aberdeen and graduated from Nettleton High School. He moved to Kenosha to make his home in 1952. On November 5, 1957, he married Carolyn L. Bezotte at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2008. Mick was employed by American Motors/Chrysler until his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf, loved and appreciated spending time at his cabin in the North woods, and most importantly, was a devoted caretaker of his family. Survivors include his three children, Suzette (Leo) Gainey of West Seneca, NY, Michael (Melanie) Gentry of Mt. Pleasant, WI, and Bennett (Emilia) Gentry of Kenosha; a brother, James Benjamin (Cynthia) Gentry of Houston, TX; three sisters, Faye Palmer of Denham Springs, LA, Anne Wohlwend of Courtland, MS, and Carla (Dan) Hatchett of Shreveport, LA; two grandchildren, Michelle Gentry and Marissa Gentry; and six step grandchildren, Robert (Jessica) Gainey, Brandi McMahon, Ryann (Peter) Braun, Jensen Wohlgemuth, Matthew (Jo) Axelson and Marianna Axelson. He is further survived by several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Gentry and nephew, Dennis Bezotte, Jr. In accordance to Mick’s wishes, private funeral services were held. A memorial will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd. Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158, would be greatly appreciated.
