David Arnie Dissmore

David A. Dissmore, 87, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Aurora Medical Center. Born in the Town of Pigeon, WI, on June 7, 1927, he was the son of the late Clinton and Emma (Rasmuson) Dissmore. He moved to Zion, IL, from Whitehall, WI, in 1945 to attend Great Lakes Bible Institute from which he graduated in 1948. He moved to Kenosha in 1946. On August 16, 1947, he married Sarah V. Molgaard in Kenosha. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2000. Then on July 21, 2001, he married Barbara Remus at First Assembly of God in Kenosha. David was employed as a machinist with Johnson Outboards for many years, and later worked at Johns Manville and Oneac Corporation. He was a member of Journey Church from its earliest days as the Assembly of God on Roosevelt Road and was very active and involved in the church. David was a very handy man, was musical and most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Dissmore of Kenosha; three sons, Larry David (Gayle) Dissmore of Springfield, MO, Randall Lee (Deborah) Dissmore of Pleasant Prairie and Carey Neal (Donnetta) Dissmore of Burnsville, MN; two daughters, Linda Marie (Ben) Sherwood of Pleasant Prairie and Patricia Louise (Harvey) Nyien of Westmont, IL; three step sons, Daniel (Alexia) Remus of Pleasant Prairie, David (Sue) Remus of Kenosha and Daylen (Tiffany) Remus of Ft. Myers, FL; a step daughter, Debbie (Tim) Stensgard of Pleasant Prairie; two brothers, Lewis (Linda) Dissmore of Edmond, OK, and Roger Dissmore of Whitehall, WI; eleven grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Allene Dell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31st, at Journey Church, 10700-75th Street, Kenosha, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30th, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
