Shirley A. Olson, 91, of Kenosha passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Brookside Care Center. She was born in Minneapolis, MN, on July 7, 1923, the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Gladys E. (Anderson) Lawrence. After High School graduation, Shirley attended college. On October 7, 1945, at Highland Park Lutheran Church in Minnesota, she married Raymond A. Olson. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2005. Her husband, Raymond, was a Lutheran Minister, they moved several times before coming to Kenosha in 1959 to make their home. For over 12 years Shirley worked at the Kenosha Social Services office until her retirement. She was a member of The Prayer House Assembly of God Church and Shirley was very active in Church functions. Surviving are her two loving children; Victoria (James) Barnhart of Sturtevant; Sarah (Joseph) Lehman of Kenosha; her eleven loving grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons; Timothy, Daniel, Thomas Olson and one sister Phyllis Ryberg. Visitation will be held at the Proko Funeral Home on Monday, December 8th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
