Arden John Sneesby

Arden J. Sneesby, Jr., 74, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014, at ManorCare. Born in Waukegan, IL, on June 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Arden J. and Florence (Poole) Sneesby, Sr. He was educated in the schools of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and graduated from Zion-Benton High School. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force, entering the service on July 1, 1959, and was honorably discharged on June 18, 1963. On May 20, 1961, he married Prudence Butler in Massachusetts. She preceded him in death on November 16, 1997. After the service, Arden was employed as a truck driver for several trucking companies until his medical retirement in 1986. He was an airplane and motorcycle enthusiast and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved baseball and football, following the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears, and in his younger years even coached while his sons played. Survivors include his four children, Tina (Alan) Neighbor of South Bend, IN, Arden J. Sneesby, III of Waukesha, WI, Evelyn (Michael) Schaaf of Kenosha and James (Jessica) Sneesby, Sr. of Avondale, AZ; two sisters, Marie Tutor and Norma Gosselin, Both of Kenosha; and seven grandchildren, Corissa Neighbor, Seth Neighbor, Joshua Sneesby, Rachael Miller, Justin Schaaf, James Sneesby, Jr. and Jeremy Sneesby. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 5th, at Proko Funeral Home at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery with full military honors.
