Dear Hackbarth Family,I met Russ many years ago when I was working in the Purchasing Dept at Snap-on Tools......Russ was our go-to guy for all lock work. We could always count on Russ for work done quickly with 1st class workmanship. Little did I know at the time that years later Russ would "come to the rescue" at my home bound mother's house. One lunch hour when I tried to put my key in the door, it wouldn't open. I yelled inside and my mother said she could not open the door from the inside either.....and we both started to panic. Luckily a neighbor let me use his phone to call Russ during the noon hour and he came over within 10 minutes to find that the door lock spring had broken. Russ fixed the lock in no time and saved the day for us.....he was "our hero." I'm sure that Russ was a HERO to everyone in his family. He will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies to the family.

Laurie, I am truly sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of you and Russ when I worked across the street from your shop. One call and Russ was at the Bank in a flash. We had many conversations, mostly about his girls and how proud he was of them. He was a sweet man and I am glad I had run into him a few times over the years. Also, I knew he was battling cancer and yet he never gave up working. What a remarkable role model. He will be missed by many. Sincere Sympathy. Charmaine
