Carolyn Loraine Gollnick, age 86, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born on July 21, 1928 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of the late Delta (Sucliff) and George Wentler. She graduated from high school in Tomah, WI, class of 1946, and married Floyd Gollnick on February 15, 1947. They were married 67 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Gollnick, and her three sisters: Mary Lou, Betty and Shirley. She is survived by her son Jerry and his wife Diane and their children Benjamin and Andrea, all of Boulder, CO; and her daughter Pamela Jepson and her husband Michael and their daughter Carly, all of Racine, WI. Carolyn was employed by Eaton/Dynamatic for 25 years, retiring in 1988 to care for her granddaughter, Carly. The number of friends Carolyn had did not amount to a large number, but the people Carolyn called her friends knew what a friend was. She gave so much of herself to others and her family without ever expecting anything in return. She was the best mother anyone could ever have. We will miss her kind heart and beautiful smile. She loved reading, baking, flea markets and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Her heart has known the love of her husband Floyd, the joy and pride in her children Jerry and Diane, Pam and Mike, the “ups” and “downs” in their lives, the warmth of life’s friendships, the celebration of weddings and the magnificent blessings of her grandchildren, Ben, Andrea and Carly. She journeyed through her life with tears and laughter. Because of her, and the man who took her hand, her children grew up in a home filled with support and strength, with laughter and with love. Her children grew up learning to respect others, to take pride in hard work, and to value friends, family and faith. Carolyn was our family’s guardian angel and will always be a guiding presence in our lives. We must learn to feel her presence through the angel she has now become. We remain to make bright her memory, to live her legacy, to make her proud. We now say a prayer thanking God for the wonderful woman who took time to listen to us, to make us feel special, to let us know that we were loved and cared for. We thank God for our mother. We are thankful that we were able to let her know how much we loved her. Stay close to your friends and family, take the time to let them know just how much you care, for they have helped make you the person that you are today. This is the circle and blessing of life. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25th, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 5927-37th Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53140, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to your local chapter of the National Association for Mental Illness would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Carlotta’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
