Catherine Louks, 86, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2014, at her residence with her family at her side. Born in Bad Axe, MI, on August 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Mary (Mullen) Steeland. She was educated in the schools of Macomb County, MI. On May 5, 1951, she married Jack N. Louks at Ft. McCoy in Indiana. Together they moved to Kenosha from Zion in 1958. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2000. She was employed with McDonald’s for 24 years until her retirement in 2000. Catherine was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church where she was very active. She enjoyed traveling, was an excellent sewer, and loved to bake and cook. Survivors include her two children, Jack D. (Sharon) Louks of Racine and Maureen (David) Sanders of Seekonk, MA; six grandchildren, Kathleen Louks, Allison (Trevor) Hanson, Matthew Sanders, Evan Louks, Mary-Katherine Sanders and Michael Sanders; and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Richard and George Steeland; and a sister, Margaret Marsh. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7th, from the Proko Funeral Home at 8:45 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Therese Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
