Mary Barr
Mary R. Barr, 95, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, September 26, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 7, 1918, in Layton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Catherine (Tirabassi) Pacetti. In 1924 her family came to Kenosha to make their home and she was educated in local schools. On March 4, 1939, she married Almond Barr at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2007. For over 32 years Mary worked at Jockey International. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Mt. Carmel Ladies Society, Mt. Carmel Mission Ladies, Jockey Retirees, Friends of the Museum, Friends of Italian Culture, Italian American Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies of the Moose, and the Kenosha Senior Center. Surviving are her three sons, Gerald DeCelle (Jeanne) Barr of Burlington, WI, Ronald Keith (Kathleen) Barr of Glendora, CA, and Thomas Duane (Barbara) Barr of Kenosha; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Pacetti and Veto Pacetti; and four sisters, Philomena Wilmott, Virginia Bowen, Lena Brown and Emma Cicchini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 1st, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 6:00 p.m. Entombment will be private.
