Carol Jean “C.J.” (Shiffra) Schiller, 57, passed away unexpectedly after a sudden illness on Monday, August 18, 2014, at St. Catherine’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Kenosha on March 13, 1957. Carol attended local schools and graduated from Tremper High School. On September 20, 1980, she married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Craig Schiller, at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church. Carol “C.J.” was employed at the Racine Court House working with probate and guardianships for 35 years, retiring in 2012. She was a conscientious and hard worker. Carol always had a smile on her face and made the best of everything. She always put her family and friends before herself. For nearly 34 years of marriage, Carol and her husband, Craig, enjoyed spending as much time as possible together. They enjoyed traveling, especially to the Smokey Mountains and Branson, Missouri, as well as northern Wisconsin. Carol loved animals, particularly her two yorkies, Peanut and Cricket, as well as her grand dog, Marley. She enjoyed landscaping her yard with beautiful flowers, cooking, reading, shopping, and volunteering at senior assisted living homes. Carol will be deeply missed by her husband Craig, daughter Kimberly (Kim) Schiller and Jeff Capps, mother Bonnie (Miller) Shiffra, brother Shaun Shiffra, sister Sharida (Matthew) Weidner, in-laws Edward and Marilyn Schiller, sister-in-law Carolyn (Thomas) Van Beckum, “sister” Debbie Koessl, several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Shiffra. Memorials to Safe Harbor Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Carol’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

To Carol's family. I have only had the joy of knowing Carol for the last few months. She entered our world at Regent Manor and Canterbury Home as a volunteer. She fit in right away and we were blessed to have shared this time with her. She was a beacon of "happy" to our residents and staff. We were just really getting to know each other! We had lots of fun last Wednesday playing "Wheel of Fortune"...I will miss her very much. It was a sad day today when I had to announce to our residents that Carol had left us. In her short time at our facilities she left quite an imprint on all of us and taught us what a caring heart is. May God bless your family.
