Rose L Andrews
Rose L. (Tenuta) Andrews, 85, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. Born in Kenosha on May 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Mercurio and Saveria (Muoio) Tenuta. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools. On May 20, 1948, she married Robert W. Andrews at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Rosie worked as a waitress/manager at Greco’s/Saturno’s/Tenuta’s Restaurant. Because of her great personality, she was the entertainment at the restaurant. She would have everyone in the restaurant at attention while she told stories and jokes. If someone didn’t have enough money for their food, she would take money out of her pocket so they could eat. She was compassionate and caring and would help everyone. Our loss is heavens gain. After she retired from the restaurant, her favorite pastime was playing slot machines, traveling, and visiting with family and her club. Surviving are her sons, Robert W. (Diane) Andrews, Jr. of Kenosha, Patrick “Joe” (Debbie) Andrews of Pleasant Prairie and Michael Andrews of Kenosha; her daughter, Sandra Andrews of Kenosha; one brother, Joseph (Marge) Tenuta; three sisters, Gilda Conti, Jessie (Robert) Paulson, Louise (Alfredo) Greco all of Kenosha; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Andrews; a granddaughter, Heather Andrews; a daughter, Catherine Andrews; a son, Jerry Andrews; a sister, Minnie Schuppert; and four brothers, Sam Tenuta, George Tenuta, Frank Tenuta, and Anthony Tenuta. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at Proko Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Rose’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

Dear Bob,Mike&Joe, I'm sorry to hear about your Mother's passing.....she was truely one of a kind! My Dad would ask me years ago when I was a young boy where should we go for lunch....I would always choose Greco's! I loved sitting at the counter and watch your Mom entertain the whole restaurant while waitressing, she was so funny! My Deepest Condolences.......Jimmy

I was so sorry to hear of Rose's passing. I have been her Thursday Meals on Wheels driver for awhile. She was the highlight of my route! I was off the week before her death but the week prior we had another one of our lovely visits. Se always made me feel special and as if we had known each other forever. We shared our love of birds, slot machines and family!. We talked about our families mostly! She sure loved her family and I think it's wonderful that you arranged care so she could remain in her beautiful home with at the great bird feeders! Her care giver's name escapes me now but she was such a wonderful young girl who was a family friend. I saw what great care she took of Rose, please send her my sympathy! What really touched me is how she never complained, every time I asked how she was feeling she would say good. Rose will remain in my heart and I'm thankful I got to know her. Everyday when I fill my bird feeders I will think of her!My sympathy,Betsy Anderson
