Carol J. Shimak, 75, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Aurora Medical Center with her family at her side. Born on February, 19, 1939, in Zigler, IL, she was the daughter of the late John and Julie (Matulis) Shimak. Carol came to Kenosha from Chicago, IL, seven years ago to make her home. She loved to ride the bus to the mall and going to the Senior Citizens Center. Surviving are her four children, James Mende, Randy Shimak, Julia Figueroa and Laurie Shimak; four grandchildren, Vanessa Figueroa, Deanna Figueroa, Bianca Figueroa and Anastasia Shimak; one great-granddaughter, Lilliana Figueroa; and a brother, William Shimak. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley Jenkins.
