Bette Diel, 78, passed away on June 27, 2014, at her home. Born on July 17, 1935, Bette was the daughter of the late William and Minnie (Tredup) Wasurick. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, Bette received her education in Kenosha schools and graduated in 1953 from Mary D. Bradford High School. In September of 1956 she married Donald Blaziewske at St. Therese Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1977. On October 2, 1982, she married Richard W. Diel at the Kenosha Women's Club. She was employed by Kenosha Unified School District from 1971 until her retirement in 1999. Bette was a kind and gentle soul who made friends everywhere she went. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her grandson. Bette is survived by her husband, Richard; her daughter, Shelly (Patrick) Martin of Lexington, SC; her grandson, Joshua Martin; and her sister, Joyce Harrington of Ft. Atkinson, WI. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Gene, Robert and William; and a sister, MaryLou Neff.
