Richard James Cecchini

Richard J. “Doc” Cecchini, 76, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Kenosha, WI, on August 23, 1937, the son of the late Adam and Nancy A. (Copen) Cecchini. Dick was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford in 1956. Dick joined the U.S. Army National Guard and was stationed at Ft. Lewis in Tacoma, WA. In 1968 he married Nancy K. Bruce; she preceded him in death in 1996. Dick was employed with his brother Thomas at Cecchini Brothers Construction from 1952-1964, and with Salvano Brothers from 1960-1964. He later started United Construction with his brother Tom, and worked there from 1968 until he retired in 2003. Surviving Dick are his two daughters, Kim (Charlie) Kennedy of Kenosha and Michelle Cecchini of Kenosha; and four grandchildren, Brett Cecchini, Maggie and Chloe Kennedy and Scott Barrette. He is further survived by three brothers and two sisters, Delores (the late Robert) Splieth, Thomas (Doris) Cecchini, Adam (Sandy) Cecchini, Val (John) Wilda and Dennis (Celeste) Cecchini, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held for Richard on Saturday, June 28th, at the Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow with military honors at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
