Mildred “Millie” Cairo, 96, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Missouri on October 7, 1917, she was the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Olberto) Nardine. She moved to Kenosha as a teenager and has resided here for the past 83 years. On October 30, 1937, in Crown Pointe, Indiana, she married the love of her life Frank S. Cairo. They raised their two sons in Kenosha and exemplified a devoted marriage which lasted 60 years. Millie took pride in being a homemaker, baking homemade bread and desserts, hosting Saturday morning breakfasts, and sending cards to her family. Surviving Millie is her son Richard (Carol) Cairo and daughter-in-law Josephine Cairo, a sister Elsie Greno, nine grandchildren: Frank (Barbara), Renee (Tom) Blise, Michelle (Dean) Loew, Steve (Gloria), David (Mary), Jeff (Jamie), Joel, Josh (Hyun) and Jai (Grace) Cairo, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank on July 13, 1998, a son Ronald on November 22, 2011, sisters Rena, Lorraine Maroney, Betty Greno and an infant brother. A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Mildred on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
