Robert Rudolph Carbone
Robert R. “Bob” Carbone, 81, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully Monday, April 28, 2014. Born November 3, 1932, in Kenosha, he was the son the late Frank A. and Rose Marie (Gallo) Carbone. Bob was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, attending local schools and was a graduate of Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL. On November 6, 1953, he entered the United States Army serving in the Far East and Japan until his honorable discharge in 1955. He received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korea Service Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. On May 2, 1953, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, he married his junior high sweetheart, June H. Modory. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2012. From 1957 until 1983 Bob was a coach, teacher, vice-principal and principal of St. Joseph High School. He then worked at Great Lakes Naval Base from 1983 until his retirement in 1997 as an Education Administrator and in 1990 he was declared US MEPCOM Employee of the year. Bob was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, St. Anthony’s Parish Council, a lifetime member of WIAA Coaches Association and a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity at Lake Forest College. Bob served 19 years as a Kenosha County Supervisor for the 9th district. Bob was active and associated with many Civic, Education and Athletic Organizations and for which he received many accolades for his dedicated service over the years (too many to list). But, his main focus in life was God, Family, Country and the relationships he formed through coaching and local politics. Bob lived by the creed “A man should not be judged by the money he amasses, or the job he attains, but rather by what he has done to make life better for his fellow man.” Bob is survived by his three children: Kristina (John) Rudolph of Duluth, MN; Laurence “Larry” (Stacie) Carbone of Dublin, OH; Karin (Peter) McCarville of Kenosha; his seven grandchildren, Joshua (Laura), Kaitlyn & Veronica Rudolph, Alexa & Paxson Carbone, Maximilian McCarville and a great-grandchild due in June. Bob is also survived by his brother, Frank M. (JoAnn) Carbone and sister, Jean C. Carbone both of Kenosha and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife June. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rosanna Ranieri and St. Catherine’s Hospital Dialysis staff for their care and compassion, as well as the staff of Brookside Care Center and Hospice Alliance. Kris, Larry and Karin,Deepest sympathy to you and your families. Your Dad had such an impact on my life. I was fortunate to know him in many capacities; teacher, coach, peer, leader, supporting parent and friend. I learned so much from him and I share those teachings with others at every opportunity. He lives on through so many of us who were fortunate enough to be helped by "Coach".Bob Theriault

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Mr Bob Carbone. I was fortunate enough to learn about Mr Carbone through his beloved son, Larry. The many stories & pictures reflect his priorities of God, Family, & Country. Mr Carbone, I pray that I meet you in the Kingdom of God and just know that we are blessed to have your son, Larry, on earth to continue building on what is important in life. May God bless you!
