Loris Mae Legler

Loris Mae Legler, 84, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Harmony Assisted Living of Kenosha with her family at her side. Born in Viroqua, WI, on November 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James and Julia Bufton. She came to Kenosha County at the age of 12 and was educated in Kenosha County, a graduate of Wilmot High School. On May 1, 1948, she married Victor Legler in Bristol. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2003. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, especially her roses. She also enjoyed cooking. Loris made the best apple pie and great chicken German Butterball soup. Surviving are her two sons, Gary (Joan) Legler and Kevin (Kris) Legler, both of Kenosha; a grandson, Eric (Kristina) Legler; a sister, Babe Lawton of La Crosse, WI; and her good friend, Helen Herr of Kenosha. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Bryan Legler; three brothers, Earl, Glenn and James, Jr.; and two sisters, Mildred Witt and Lillian Voss. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Alliance and Harmony Assisted Living for all the kindness and special care given to Loris. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 21st, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at North Bristol Cemetery.
